Hip Hop: A Black Tie Affair

This Saturday some of our students volunteered to go to the Wheeling Heritage and YWCA fundraiser event, “Hip Hop: A Black Tie Affair” to help raise awareness and celebrate 50 years of young people who’ve expressed their voices and risen above suppression and oppression through African American, Latinx, and Caribbean American cultural music and art expression.   The OFS students shook hands and connected with inspirational leaders of the Ohio Valley community, such as YWCA’s Cultural Diversity & Community Outreach Director, Ron Scott who will be visiting Olney this spring to speak with our students about misconceptions and bias.
