Olney Welcomes New Director of Admissions

As Olney Friends School prepares for its 180th academic year, many exciting changes are taking place on campus. Cynthia Walker, our Dean of Academic Affairs, and Micah Brownstein, our long-tenured Dean of Students, have been promoted to an interim Co-Head of School role for the 2017-2018 school year. Entering the new year with the highest enrollment in a decade, Olney is also excited to welcome a new Director of Admissions.
Dustin Jarrett brings fourteen years of admissions experience in the world of higher education to Olney, having worked at both Wilmington College and Ohio Northern University before most recently serving as Dean of Undergraduate Admissions at Wheeling Jesuit University. “There are so many things to love about Olney. From the individualized learning opportunities to the small student-to-faculty ratio to the open academic setting, it all comes back to the student,” said Jarrett, who assumed responsibilities for the department on August 8. “The focus on each individual student is what makes this place so special and that’s what drew me to the institution.”
“We’re very excited to have Dustin on board. His knowledge and background will be a great asset to Olney and I know both our current and future students will love his sense of humor and outgoing personality,” said Cynthia Walker. “Dustin‘s role as the Director of Admissions will be vital in Olney’s continued growth. He’s already begun brainstorming ideas about how to keep guiding Olney in the right direction and increase student enrollment.”
The 2017-2018 school year officially begins on Monday, August 28th with new students arriving on Friday, August 25th. Returning students make their way back to campus on Sunday, August 27th.
