Laura Huffman attended Olney for the ’82-’83 school year. She and sons Gordon and Phillip stopped to visit on their way to Maryland on Wednesday. Laura spent time with Jamie (Zavitz ’83) and Shelley (Rockwell ’82) reminiscing about her days here. While Laura did not graduate from Olney (she said she was “having too much fun,” but has very fond memories of her time here), she related that Olney was a transformative experience for her and that she values it to this day.
Laura is related to various Smiths, Steers and Binns families. She shared some Olney Currents that belonged to her parents. Laura’s connections to Olney were further realized in sending her sons, Gordon and Phillip, to Friends Music Camp. They spent part of the summers on campus for several years and really enjoyed being part of the FMC community. They are currently home-schooled and are in their junior and senior years of their education.
