9th Grade Skit

1. Savila Se Bela Loza
a. is a broken-circle dance from Serbia. “In the lyrics, a pretty grapevine twined along a fence turns out to be two lovers kissing.”
2. Alunelul
a. or “little hazelnut,” is a line or circle dance from Romania. Its message is “come dance, it will be lucky and we will grow tall.”
3. Mayim
a. is a circle dance whose name means “water.” This Israeli dance was born in the agricultural festivals held by collective farms, or kibbutzim, of Jewish settlers in 1930s Palestine.
