A recent Olney Friends School tradition, “February Fridays” officially kicked off this afternoon.
Each Friday during the month, students engage in a series of unique projects that allow for creative and educational explorations that extend beyond the normal classroom experience. Throughout the month, each class will travel to a different city, touring local landmarks and exhibits while completing service projects. The students remaining on campus that week will spend their Friday afternoons taking part in various enrichment exercises that approach topics and themes that haven’t been covered in other Endeavors. Students were involved in every step of this year’s planning process, taking initiative to not only come up with ideas, but also developing their planning and coordination skills.
While our seniors are busy exploring Washington D.C. (you can view photos from their trip on our student-run Instagram channel), the rest of the student body has spent the afternoon yarn bombing, goat prepping, wood carving, and native dancing.
