Serves 8
- 8 chicken thighs, or any bone-in chicken pieces
- 1/2 cup onions, diced
- 1 tsp granulated garlic
- ~1 cup soy sauce
- 1 TBL five spice powder, recipe below
Preheat your oven to 350°. Place chicken in a casserole dish, skin side down. Scatter onions over the chicken, and sprinkle with garlic. Pour soy sauce in the bottom of the dish until the bottom is completely covered. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven, turn the chicken skin side up, and return to the oven. Bake about 20 more minutes. Remove the pan from the oven again and sprinkle with five spice powder. Return the chicken to the oven a final time and back 10 more minutes or until the skin is golden. Serve over rice with a drizzle of the pan juices

- ginger
- cloves
- allspice
