A Time to Build Campaign Report
With many hands, we raised $4,594,417 to exceed our $4.5 million goal for the A Time To Build Campaign. Thank you from your friends at Olney Friends School! The campaign priorities included improvements to the dormitories, historic restoration of the Main Building, and annual fund and endowment growth.
During the summer of 2008 new furniture was purchased for both the Boys and Girls Dormitories. New energy efficient windows were installed in both dormitories. The Boys Dorm has new exterior doors. The Girls Dorm has improved interior lighting.
Exterior restoration of the Main building is continuing, with repairs to the century-old slate roof and bell tower completed in 2010-2011. With proper maintenance the roof should serve for an additional 100 years. Work to restore the brick façade was completed in 2011-2012; work to improve the energy efficiency of the windows is next on the list of projects.
Gifts to Endowment funds have been received and those to the Annual Fund are on the increase. Both of these priorities are essential to Olney’s financial health. Architectural plans for the new green activity center are in hand, ready for our next steps.
