College Counseling Process:
The college counseling process begins as soon as a student arrives at Olney Friends School. Advisors set academic and collegiate goals with student advisees. The course registration process helps students to optimize their talents and to aim for taking the most challenging curriculum that will enable them to succeed and achieve to their potential. The college application process is very visible at Olney, and 9th - 11th grade students watch their senior classmates go through the process. PSAT tests are taken in the 10th and 11th grade; 11th grade PSAT give the parents, students and the college counselor a good idea of what schools the students can aim for. Formal college counseling begins in the 11th grade year with (non credit) college class and SAT prep class.
