News Release: Olney Friends School to be Featured on Today's Family

Olney Friends School is proud to announce that it will be featured in a segment about education for the television show Today's Family on the ABC Family Network and PAX TV. Filming for the segment will take place Tuesday, November 2, 2005, in preparation for the piece airing various time from December through April.

Says the website of Today's Family, "Today's Family is a series that celebrates successful parenting solutions with an approach that informs, enlightens and broadens the perspectives of today's parents." After deciding to feature a Quaker school for a new segment about education, the producers of Today's Family invited Olney Friends School, out of eight other Quaker boarding schools across the country, to be the featured. Platinum Television Group, based in Deefield Beach, Florida, will be filming for ten hours before editing down the segment to be part of the half hour "Models of Excellence" series.

Olney Friends School offers an intellectually challenging college preparatory program within a supportive Quaker community. It is a co-educational boarding school for 65-70 students in grades 9-12, located among the beautiful Appalachian foothills in Barnesville, Ohio.
