News Release: Olney Friends School Announces New Hires
Olney Friends School, Barnesville, Ohio will begin the 2005-2006 school year with four new teaching faculty. Abby Chew will teach Humanities 9 and creative writing. Chew has a BA in English from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana and a Masters of Fine Arts in creative writing from the University of Iowa. Marie Craig will be teaching AP Literature and Pre-Calculus. Craig recently received her BA in Liberal Arts from St. John's College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Advanced Spanish will be taught by Angela George. George recently received her BA in Spanish Linguistics from The Ohio State University. Beginning Spanish will be taught by Molly Watters. Watters is an alumna of Olney Friends School and recently received her BA in Spanish from Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.
Olney Friends School has also hired three new non-teaching personnel. Meg Short was hired as Admissions Director. Short holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Beverly Kirk Shull, an alumna of Olney Friends School, was hired as Business Manager. Shull holds a MS from the University of Pennsylvania. Shelley Scott was hired as Main Office Manager. Scott, also an alumna of Olney Friends School, holds an AAS from Cuyahoga Community College and is a certified arborist.
Olney Friends School is a co-educational day and boarding school for 65-70 students in grades 9-12. Olney Friends School offers an intellectually challenging college preparatory program within a supportive Quaker community. At Olney Friends School all members of the faculty and staff are valued as teachers who provide positive role models for students, promoting the values of integrity and simplicity both inside and outside of the classroom.
