Olney Friends School
News Release: Game on: The Olney Field Hockey Team faced the faculty in the first match of the year!

On Wednesday, October 4 and Monday October 9th, the Olney field hockey team faced the Olney faculty members in a friendly match. Field hockey is the oldest known ball-and-stick game and is believed to date from the earliest civilizations. Coaches Shelley Rockwell and Cleda Mott are proud of the team’s progress. Shelley, coach and dynamic team-leader, proclaimed, “With four students who have never played field hockey and only one month of practice, I am thrilled with the teams progress. The students have learned the basics of the century old sport. They have learned to dribble, play positions, and run, run run!” Even though the faculty slightly edged the students in this years opening match, everyone was a winner!
