FCE Heads meeting - Registration and schedule information

RE: Secondary Heads Gathering, April 10-11: Exploring visions for our students, our schools, and our planet

Dear friends,

Nearly a month ago Olney Friends School joined with many of you and schools and colleges across the country in a hosting a teach-in to raise awareness of global climate change and resource depletion issues. Our Focus the Nation event was a school-wide collaboration to invite the public to our campus for a day. It included three outside presenters, class presentations, break out groups and proposals for action. In each of our Friends schools we are working to address the five areas of sustainability, outlined by NAIS. As Olney Friend School hosts the Secondary Heads' gathering this spring, I invite you to join me in focusing on environmental sustainability from our rural perspective, to talk with each other about the "greening" of our Quaker schools, and together explore our visions for our students, our schools and our planet.

Olney Friends School, our small, rural, boarding school, is situated in the scenic rolling hills of southeast Ohio on the east side of the town of Barnesville. And, contrary to some popular misconceptions, you may easily travel here from any direction. We are about an hour and half from Pittsburgh to the east. The Pittsburgh airport is conveniently located west of the city not far from the Ohio/WV border and Amtrak also serves the city. From the west, one may drive here in about two hours from the Columbus airport. Find further travel details below.
