Olney Friends School
Upcoming Event: Ecothon

On Saturday, April 29, twelve Olney Friends School students and two faculty members competed in the Ecothon, a trail run through a wildlife preserve. The run takes place at The Wilds, located in central Ohio, and covers either five or ten kilometers over expansive prairie lands.

Sophomore Monica Mikkelson placed first in her age group over the 5k run. Chris Basler, sophomore Humanities teacher, placed second in her age group over the 5k run. Brett Potash, senior Humanities teacher and running coach, placed first in his age group in the 10k run.

The Wilds is a 9,000 acre preserve for animals such as the camel, giraffe, rhinoceros, antelope, bison, and several other species, many from the African savannah or Asian wilds. After the run, several of the participants stayed for a free tour.
