TOURS AND PRESENTATIONS
Farm and Garden Tour
9:00-10:30 a.m.
Tour the Olney Friends School campus – or as much of the 350 acres as we can show you in an hour and a half! Visit the working farm and garden. Meet goats, chickens, pigs, cattle. Taste vegetables in season.
Garlic Planting
10:45-11:45 a.m.
Walk across the land bridge to the Towe Gardens and help put Olney’s garlic crop in the ground. No previous gardening experience needed. All ages welcome.
Raven Rocks Tour
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Travel to the nearby Raven Rocks nature preserve and hike down into one of its beautiful gorges, overshadowed by massive rock overhangs. Visit the homes of Olney Friends School staff who have built or renovated their own homes using greenhouses, triple insulation, heat exchangers, composting toilets, and more.

Meet current students. Learn more about Olney’s academic and co-curricular programs. Ask questions about Quaker education. The entire campus is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Presentation and Q&A about Passive Haus Design
11:00-11:45 a.m.
For its first new building in more than 40 years, Olney Friends School plans to build a new activity center that will meet an impressive European standard of “green” design. Come learn about Passive Haus design, which is at least three times more energy efficient than LEED.
