“Youth, Peace, and the Environment”
A discussion hosted jointly by the students of Olney Friends School
and the Peace and Social Concerns Committee of Friends Meeting of Washington
2111 Florida Avenue NW (at the meetinghouse)
Washington, DC 20008
Sunday, April 15, 2012
5:00-7:00 p.m. (potluck supper included)
You are invited to join several Olney Friends School students and Digital Film Class and Quakerism teacher Roger Reynolds for an exploration of queries on youth activism, particularly in relation to peace and the environment. The students will screen three extremely short films they made this spring.
Two of the films, “The Real Crime of America” (2 minutes) and “What If….” (1 minute), are finalists in AFSC’s “If I Had a Trillion Dollars…” contest proposing alternate uses for US military dollars. The third film, “Revolution” (5 minutes), is an animated short about the individual and society in relation to care for the environment.
RSVP requested to alumni@olneyfriends.org.
