Watershed Study
Why Captina Creek Watershed?
It’s hard to talk about Olney Friends School without bringing up Captina Creek Watershed. Watersheds affect everyone’s quality of life. They are excellent learning laboratories. Ours is emblematic of the region where we live, at the intersection of concerns over energy, economy, and environment. We live in coal country, and yet the watershed, whose headwaters are on our school campus, are pristine. Our students and teachers help to keep it that way.
We hope you’ll enjoy browsing stories about our students, the science and service they do, and how they help care for the local land and water.
