Religion

The spiritual curriculum at Olney Friends School is based on deepening our understanding of ourselves, of others, and of God, however we may understand God.

We draw on Quaker principles of love, truthfulness, integrity, and nonviolence to shape our explorations.

Typical course offerings in religion include Quakerism, World Religions, as well as some more personalized instructor-designed courses that are intended to help adolescents discover their spiritual selves.

Students in these classes explore the history and meaning of religious life and connect with their own spiritual experience.

Ours is a multifaith community, with students and teachers of many different faiths and no faith. Students are required to study Quakerism an an elective, plus two other course of their choosing.
